Composite Toolmaking

This micro-credential is aimed at people working in the composites industry who want to upskill. The course can also be used to credentialise your skills in gel coat application and chopper gun application composite toolmaking and chopper gun spraying. It is expected that you will have experience in these areas prior to enrolment. The course is delivered in the workplace.


Composite Tool Making  includes practical and theory in :

  • Spray methods to deposit a polyester gel coat

  • Deposit composite matrix with chopper gun or depositor

  • Prepare materials and equipment to make a plug or

  • Produce an open mould form a plug or pattern

Legal eligibility to study in NZ. Residents and Citizens only. Minimum of 16 years of age. English language requirements apply.

Cost (2024) Work Based - $450.00 Plus gst  includes all learning resources and assessment.
