Tommy Honey

Tommy Honey is Chair of MAST Academy and Executive Director of the New Zealand Construction Industry Council, the peak body advocating for the construction sector. He also sits on the Board of the Services Industry Skills Board, contributing to skills strategy across the services sector, and has spent many years consulting to tertiary organisations. His strategic vision and advocacy expertise make him a valuable leader for MAST Academy as it advances excellence in marine and specialised technology training.
Chief Executive
Chris van der Hor

Chris van der Hor brings over 25 years' experience in the marine industry, spanning boatbuilding, superyacht construction and high-performance mast and rig production, including America's Cup campaigns. He holds a National Certificate in Boatbuilding (Composites) alongside management and industry qualifications. As Chief Executive of MAST Academy, he is focused on advancing skills in the marine, composites and specialised technology sectors, and on reinforcing New Zealand's reputation for marine excellence.

Josh Williams

Josh Williams is Head of Policy, Research and Consulting at Skills Group and an internationally recognised expert in vocational education, apprenticeships and school-to-work pathways. With 25 years across New Zealand's education and industry training systems, he was formerly Chief Executive of the Industry Training Federation and a Senior Policy Manager at the Ministry of Education.

Susan Lake

Susan Lake is a Chartered Engineer with over 25 years in marine and aerospace composites. She is currently Principal Neutron Material and Process Engineer at Rocket Lab. Previously she held roles as General Manager at Core Builders Composites and Technical Service Manager at Gurit New Zealand and she has served as Treasurer for the Royal Institution of Naval Architects NZ and the High Performance Yacht Design Conferences for over 20 years.

David Glen

David Glen is a highly experienced CEO who has led some of the marine sector's largest companies, with governance experience in both public and private organisations. He has a proven track record in entrepreneurship, strategy and management, and has led marine sector vocational training for more than 15 years.

Tupara Morrison

Tupara Morrison of Ngāti Whakaue from Rotorua and a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, with over 40 years of executive and governance experience across health, tertiary education, housing and iwi development. He is currently Strategic Relationships Manager for Kāhui Tū Kaha and a Board Director on Apprentice Training NZ, Te Puia and Tāmaki Redevelopment Company.
